VIRUPAKSHA TEMPLE

Lord Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu the trinity is the great thing about this place. It was dedicated to them. It is also referred to as the Shri Vijay Vittala temple has a predominant feature of the famous architectural design Dravidian. The entire temple is embedded with several temples, enclosures, domes, and a castle. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in form of Vittala.

TUNGABHADRA DAM

Also known as Pampa Sagar, built across the Tungabhadra River, which is a tributary of the Krishna River. It is a multi-operative dam assisting irrigation, electricity production, and food control had been unveiled in 1953. It is a major tourist attraction during the early morning after the sun is out.

THE LAKSHMI NARASIMHA TEMPLE

It is the largest statue in Hampi. Narasimha is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu who has half body of a lion and half the body of a man.

The monument carving of the deity is placed on the helix of Adishesha. The statue is moulded out of a solitary granite stone. Originally, it was carved in a form the goddess Lakshmi was sitting on Narasimha lap but the statue was shattered in a raid in 1565. Today, only Lakshmi’s hand rests on the back of Narasimha. It is a beautiful place to visit if you are in the atmosphere of Hampi.

 

KRISHNA TEMPLE

You must visit Krishna Temple which adores the beauty of Lord Shri Krishna and you can see a delightful figurine of Krishna as an infant inside this temple.
